My View on School Education 学校教育之我见

ome chool onlywant their tudent to tudy hard at their leon but ignore the educating ontudent' ability of practice, communication and organization. Thee chool regardtudy a the mot important thing but other abilitie uch a communicationkill, public-minded awarene, are not ueful to them.

Thi idea i one-ided. We hould take everything intoaccount in tudent' education. If a chool ha uch an idea, it i not goodfor their tudent' future development. In the current ociety, people muthave an all-round ability to adapt to ociety. If not, tudent will find itdifficult to find a good job. Beide, book i not the only way to ucce. EQi ometime more important than IQ. So tudent hould develop uch abilitiea communication, organization, public relation, and creativity.

A far a I am concerned, on the one hand, it i importantfor u to tudy from book well and achieve excellent academic core; on theother hand, it i more important to develop other kill. One hould beociable and capable o that he can be ocially ueful.

Some people think that univerity tudent hould be able to chooe whether to go to clae or not. I could not diagree more with thi idea. Even though tudent can have excued abence, for example, when they are ick or have omething emergent to attend, generally they hould be required to go to clae. In fact, attending clae ha many advantage, three of them mot important: learning from the teacher, interacting with clamate, and developing reponibility. Attending clae ha the benefit of receiving the bet that a teacher can offer. Good teacher review the difficult and key pint of the material in the coure textbook. The bet teacher do more than thi. They conduct group dicuion of the material, and preent alternative point of view on the ame iue. Thi increae tudent' real undertanding and critical thinking. Moreover, teacher upplement the textbook material with information provide by guet peaker, which further enhance tudent' undertanding. All thi implie that, if tudent are abent from cla, it i tantamount to forfeiting their right to full benefit of teacher-guided learning in cla.

Going to clae alo help tudent learn how to work with their clamate. In cla, tudent need to put forward their idea. They have to take quetion from their clamate and when their clamate have a different point of view, they have to defend their own. All thi i conducted in a friendly manner. Interaction of thi kind teache tudent about how to work with other people. Finally, going to clae enable tudent to develop reponibility. Having to finih all the aigned reading before cla help prepare them for getting a job. So doe the requirement of being punctual for cla. Similarly, having to complete aignment on time for cla help them to foter reponibility. Admittedly, tudent can obtain information from book, but they benefit a great deal more when they go to clae. They have the advantage of learning from their teacher, of interacting with other people, and of developing the reponibility required of a good worker a well a a good tudent. If thee kill in life are in no ene optional, how can attending clae in a univerity be optional?

Thank for your lat letter. Don’t worry about my new chool life here. I’m fine here becaue I like my new chool life. My new chool life i buy but intereting. Every day I get to chool at 7:00 am and go home at 4:30 pm. We have four clae in the morning and three clae in the afternoon. My favorite day i Thurday, becaue I have Englih and art that day. The two ubject are my favorite. But I don’t like math, becaue it’ difficult. At chool, I alo have a new friend, Zhang Qiang. He often help me with math. After chool, I often have art club with him.
